Penticton School of Dance is one of BC’s largest dance studios offering classes in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, modern, highland, hip hop, breakdance, popping & locking, song & dance and ballroom dance to students of all ages. We offer both competitive & recreational programs as well as ballet & highland dance exams each season. Penticton School of Dance operates out of one of the largest dance facilities in the province of British Columbia and we strive to continue to provide fun, challenging & rewarding dance experiences throughout the year to all of our dedicated students. Celebrating our 30th anniversary in 2008, we invite you to experience what Penticton School of Dance has to offer!
 

Congratulations! Penticton School of Dance would like to send a special Congratulations to all of our students who recently took their Highland dance exams and to all those who are preparing for their upcoming R.A.D. ballet examinations as well.  Your hard work is recognized by all of your peers & instructors and we commend you all on the dedicated efforts that you have shown towards your dance goals this season!
 

Important Dates! As we are now into our second term of dance at Penticton School of Dance we would like to remind everyone of important upcoming dates that need to be marked on your calendar.  A complete list of important dance dates was handed out with our November studio newsletter and extra copies are always available by the office main door if you have misplaced or did not receive yours.

April 14^th-17^th                Dress rehearsals at the Cleland Theatre

April 24^th-27^th                Great Canadian Dance Challenge (Kelowna)

April 28^th-May 3^rd          Picture week at the studio

May 11^th                       Penticton Invitational Fun Festival (Cleland)

May 19^th                       Victoria Day, no classes this day

May 26^th                       Last day of dance classes

May 26^th-28^th                Tech. & Dress Rehearsals (preschool, highland, song & dance)

May 29^th-June 1^st          Year end dance recitals (6 shows total)

Schedules for all rehearsals, competitions, photos and recitals will be distributed in class well in advance and we will do our best to accommodate as many family shows as possible during our recital performances. If you already know that you will be away during our recital week please inform the front desk (and your teacher) as soon as possible.

Thank you! Penticton School of Dance would like to thank senior students Stephanie Bushby & Danielle Jalovec for volunteering to teach hip hop at the annual Health Conference recently held at the Penticton Trade & Convention Centre for all grade 6 students in our community.  You both did a great job and we thank you for your time!

Performances! Once again, the New Year brings many performance opportunities for our studio and we are very happy to announce that Penticton School of Dance has teamed up with Get Bent Yoga & Bellydancing to put on a preview dance concert at the Cleland Theatre on Sunday, March 9^th beginning at 6:30pm.  Tickets are $10 each and are available from Penticton School of Dance or from Get Bent Yoga & Bellydancing, both located in the Cannery Trade Center.  Enjoy an evening filled with dance entertainment and family fun while supporting your own local talent.  To view a complete list of performances by Penticton School of Dance this season please visit our “Performance Team” page.

Costumes! As dance costumes are now starting to arrive we would like to remind all of our dancers (and parents) that proper care & maintenance of your dance costume(s) is essential throughout the remainder of our dance season.  Costume care & maintenance notices are available at the front desk in case you did not receive one with your costume already. 

Summer Dance Programs!  Penticton School of Dance is thrilled to announce that we will be offering new and exciting summer dance programs this season unlike any other studio!  Summer Recreational Dance Camps for kids, Summer Intensives for the more serious & well-rounded dancer and for the first time ever we will be offering Summer Dance Boot Camps for dancers who prefer to specialize in a certain style of dance.  More details on our summer programs will be available in the spring so don’t miss out on any of our great summer classes!
