In 1978 before dance had any permanent roots in the city of Penticton Lorna Bull brought her vision & talent to our community by giving the gift of dance to many eager and enthusiastic students who were ready to experience the joy and discipline that dance had to offer.

Originally called the “Penticton School of Ballet” Lorna soon changed the name to “Penticton School of Dance” to reflect more accurately the variety of disciplines the school began to offer.  Lorna would oversee many successes that Penticton School of Dance quickly achieved during her time as director with students pursuing professional dance careers around the world and even performing before Premier Van der Zalm at the 1990 BC Winter Games Opening Ceremonies.

After having been the owner & director of Penticton School of Dance for 17 years Lorna decided to pass the reigns onto her colleague, Eve Noonan, in 1995.  Coming to the Okanagan Valley from Edmonton, Alberta Eve was ready to carry on the legacy that Penticton School of Dance continued to create for itself while barely having time to wind down from, potentially, one of Penticton School of Dance’s most successful seasons at the time with its senior students winning scholarships and 1st place prizes around the province for their solos and group routines choreographed by new director, Eve Noonan.

With many studio expansions and a rapidly growing student base Penticton School of Dance soon became a thriving dance school and a landmark in the city of Penticton.  After 11 years of being sole director of the studio Eve chose to regain her passion for teaching dance by selling the business in 2006 to long-time Penticton School of Dance student and professional dancer, Angela Quinn, while still choosing to stay on the faculty as a jazz & lyrical instructor to students of all ages.

Today, Penticton School of Dance is proudly one of the largest dance studios in the province of British Columbia and currently has students on Broadway, in film & TV, on cruiseships, in magazines and in professional ballet companies worldwide.  Studio director, Angela (Quinn) Stickland, has already taken the studio to incredible new heights in such a short period of time and has already brought 50 students to New York City to train with judges and choreographers from “So You Think You Can Dance” (see our “New York Trip” page for further details).

Now offering classes in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, modern, highland, hip hop, breakdance, popping & locking, song & dance and ballroom dance Penticton School of Dance offers a complete dance experience for anyone wishing to enjoy the benefits and discipline that dance has to offer.
